Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh) is located in Quang Ninh, Bo Trach and Minh Hoa districts, 50 km Northwest of Dong Hoi city.
It is considered to be a giant geological museum with global significance and value because of containing the history of complex geological development of the earth over 400 million years. The important tectonic phases and phases of fault movement, coordination, and bending have created overlapping mountains and subsidence sedimentary basins.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park has been recognized by UNESCO as a world Natural Heritage twice: the first in July 2003 and the second in July 2015.
