Chum Show plays at Nhà hát Đó, a theatre built of bamboo in the shape of a jar, inside the Vega City development north of Nha Trang. The building is worth arriving early for. The performance itself tells the story of central Vietnamese life and its pottery tradition through movement and live music, with almost no spoken dialogue, so language is not a barrier.

At 8 km from the centre this is not somewhere you walk to, and taxis can be thin on the ground when a performance lets out – it is worth having a car wait. The seat tiers make a real difference to how close you are to the stage, so take a front tier if you are bringing children. Performances do not run every night, so confirm the date before booking anything else around it.
