Sunset Sanato Beach Club – Long Beach Sunset Spot, Phu Quoc

Description

Sunset Sanato Beach Club on Bai Truong (Long Beach) is Phu Quoc's best-known sunset spot, famous for the giant art installations standing right at the water's edge: long-legged elephants, a bird's nest, a stairway to heaven and a sunset arch. It is the private beach of Sunset Sanato Resort, open to outside visitors, with a bar, a pizza restaurant and sun loungers.

Location: Bai Truong, Duong To – 15 – 20 minutes by car from Duong Dong night market, 10 – 15 minutes from Phu Quoc airport
Suggested time: 1.5 – 2.5 hours; arrive at 15:30 – 16:30 to photograph the installations before golden hour
Good for: couples, photo-loving friends, families watching the sunset; not a beach for long swims

TGROUP insider tips

Golden hour here is 16:30 – 18:30 in the dry season; come 60 – 90 minutes early to shoot the four installations before the queues form. The best months are October to April; from May to September afternoons are often cloudy and the sunset may not show, so TGROUP does not make it a highlight in the rainy season. There is little shade, drinks cost more than in town and outside food is not allowed. Being only 10 – 15 minutes from the airport, it suits the last afternoon of a trip; if you still want a show at Sunset Town (about 20 km away) afterwards, only Kiss of the Sea at 21:00 fits.
