The magazine wrote "When it comes to the safest destinations for women backpacking in Southeast Asia, Thailand and Vietnam still vie for the top spot – but Vietnam is a good place to start. With a well-trodden tourist route, stretching from the capital of Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh in the south, the country encompasses mountains, beaches, islands, and ancient villages like Hoi An and Hue, plus some of the region’s best cuisine. According to the report on the socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2024 released by the General Statistics Office on March 29, international arrivals to Vietnam in March 2024 reached nearly 1.6 million, up 4.4% compared to the previous month and up 78.6% compared to the same period in 2023. Overall for the first quarter of 2024, international arrivals to our country are estimated to reach over 4.6 million, up 72% compared to the same period last year and up 3.2% compared to the same period in 2019 - the year before the Covid-19 pandemic occurred.
