Trinh Ca Phe is a small local cafe on Pham Hong Thai street in Hai Chau. It is not a photogenic tourist cafe – it is the kind of place where the phin drips slowly and the ca phe sua da comes out genuinely strong, which is why local customers keep coming back. It works well as a short stop in the middle of a morning in the city centre.

Condensed-milk coffee here is strong and sweet – if it is your first one, ask for extra ice and stir it slowly. There are only a handful of seats, so the early-morning commuter hour can be full; after 10:00 or in the afternoon is calmer.
