Exploring Ba Na Hills Golf Club

Discover A Golfing Haven - Ba Na Hills Golf Club

Ba Na Hills Golf Club features 18 holes at the foot of a towering mountain range less than 30 minutes driving from Danang. The course won numerous awards including Vietnam’s Best Golf Course in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Every hole and vantage point is framed by a beautiful backdrop of local native forest. The entire course is lit from the first tee until the 18th green, allowing patrons the unique experience of playing golf after dark.

Stretching over 7,800 yards from the championship tees — making it the longest layout in Vietnam — and comprising a non-stop succession of undulating greens. Every hole and vantage point is framed by a beautiful backdrop of local native forest.

Hole 1

The opening hole offers a great chance to start your round on a positive note. Hitting over the right side of the bunker on the left of the fairway will catch the downslope and add valuable yardage to your drive.

Hole 2

Regardless off its length from the varied tee locations, the 2nd hole can be very forgiving if your tee shot is hit up the right hand side as everything funnels into the green from the large bank on the right.

Hole 3

This classically-designed, mid-length par 4 features a gentle dogleg to the right with bunkers on each side of the fairway and a lateral hazard that runs all the way along the right hand side of the hole.

Hole 4

The 4th hole is the first of back-to-back par fives and one that can be taken advantage of with its relatively short length and generous fairway.

Hole 5

This hole is a true 3-short par 5. From the championship tees there is a considerable carry over the lake, however, from the forward and middle tees, it is far easier to negotiate.

Hole 6

A tough par 4 running back along the water hazard features on the previous hole.

Hole 7

This beautiful-designed short par 4 offers a great chance to pick up a birdie

Hole 8

The stunning 8th hole is set with a backdrop of Ba Na Hills and features a mixture of well-positioned bunkers, hazards and undulations. It is a beautiful and challenging par 3.

Hole 9

This hole features many areas of potential dangers from the tee and the fairway. A slight dogleg to the right with bunkers on both sides of the fairway means that a well-positioned drive to the left of center is advantageous.

Hole 10

The 10th hole is the shortest hole at Ba Na Hills, but that doesn’t mean it’s the easiest. The severe uphill tee shot and inability to see the green makes this hole such a challenge. The green is protected by bunkers both short left and right as well as a large run-off area at the back of the green.

Hole 11

This hole uses the natural lakes and contours to create a testing par 5. A water hazard runs the entire length of the left side, with bunkers and vegetation on the right. The best line off the tee is just left of the banyan tree in the middle of the fairway.

Hole 12

A dramatic landscape for a par 3 backdrop and large elevation changes makes the 12th hole both picturesque and testing for all abilities. The tee shot requires one or two clubs less than usual due to the elevation change. Be careful to check the wind direction too. Short of the pin is preferable as the green has a lot of trouble behind. Once on the green, be sure to read your putts with care as there are some subtle breaks.

Hole 13

A blind tee shot with bunkers on both sides of the fairway about 160 yards from the green. From the blue tees the line is the right side of the fairway, however the bigger hitters can take it over the bunkers on the right. The green features some large tiers and the key here is to always leave yourself below the hole.

Hole 14

Another par 5 that requires three good shots to get to the green whilst avoiding vast vegetation and water hazards on both side of the fairway. It’s a driver off the tee but a long iron or rescue to lay up just short of the water, leaving yourself a nice pitch into the green. Two shallow faced bunkers on the right of the green and water short and left means that a confident execution is required for your third shot.

Hole 15

The 15th is deceptive and looks longer than it is because of the uphill gradient but a drive that is hit just to the right of the left hand bunkers will leave you in a great spot. Your second shot is into a largely elevated green, which requires at least one club extra. Bunkers short left and long will gather up the poor club selection but a good place to miss is over the top of the left hand bunker.

Hole 16

Ba Na Hills’s signature hole that features a large downhill drop to an island green completely surrounded by water. From the back tee it requires ultimate accuracy with a long iron, however from the daily blue tee it provides a testing but fun tee shot for all levels of player. Regardless of the pin position, get a yardage to the middle of the green and hit one club less to avoid taking on any of the tighter-cut pin locations.

Hole 17

This hole is a pure delight to play and offers a great photo opportunity with its dramatic backdrop of the Ba Na Hills from the highest point of the course. The line off of the tee is just left of center of the fairway. However, if it leaks a little right that will still leave you in a good spot for your second shot. Hit your approach right of the hole to avoid the two large bunkers guarding short left of the green.

Hole 18

The 18th is a classic, finishing at the front of the clubhouse. The fairway is wide with only minimal trouble from fairway bunkers, although there is a creek running on the far right of the fairway. The elevated and undulating green is protected on the right by bunkers, so left side provides the safest option to make the best score. Choose well to finish on a high.
