Hoang Lien National Park, Viet Nam

Hoang Lien National Park, established in 2002, covers an area of 28,500.56ha, located in 2 provinces of Lao Cai (Sapa district) and Lai Chau (Tan Uyen district).

 

 

With diverse ecosystems of flora and fauna (including the Vietnam 2,847 higher plants, of which 133 types Red Book, 16 in the World Red Book; 555 animal species including 60 rare and precious species), Hoang Lien National Park has been chosen as a center for various under plant species in the Plant Conservation program under the International Union for Conversation of Nature (IUCN); classified as A class and recognized as ASEAN Heritage Park (2003) by the Global Environment Facility.

In addition, the Park also owns many famous landscapes such as: The terraced fields at the foot of Hoang Lien Mountain ranked as the top 30 Wonders of the World: program Fansipan mountain 3,143m known as the "Roof of Indochina"; Golden stream eco-tourism site Love waterfall; water-rail forest tourist site, etc. Especially, a unique ethnic identity resource of 4 groups of the Mong, Dao, Tay and Giay with eye-catching costumes and customs and traditional practices preserved for a long time, etc. All of which make Hoang Lien National Park attractive to visitors.
