Travel guide
The Ho Chi Minh City golf courses are the densest cluster in Vietnam: more than a dozen layouts sit within a 60 km radius, and one of them is a ten-minute drive from the international terminal. This guide follows a group of four who booked a three-night vietnamgolftour with TGROUP last month, step by step — what they decided, what each round cost, and where the itinerary nearly went wrong. Green fees are as displayed on en.tgroup.vn on 10 August 2026.

▸ Why they picked Saigon over Da Nang
▸ D-30: what actually got decided
Their first message was three lines: four players, three rounds, mid-August. The consultation settled four things.
▸ Course mix — an easy city course on arrival day, a championship layout on day two, an out-of-town course on day three.
▸ Tee times — August brings afternoon showers, so morning tee times were requested first.
▸ Vehicle — one private 7-seater for the whole trip. Worth confirming in advance that four golf bags and four suitcases actually fit.
▸ What is prepaid vs paid on site — green fees confirmed up front; caddie fee, cart and club rental listed separately as on-course items.

▸ Day 1: landed, played, and still made dinner
A morning arrival meant bags to the hotel and straight out to Tan Son Nhat Golf Club, which borders the airport itself. Listed at $100.91 for 18 holes. It is not the hardest course in the region, and that is exactly the point on arrival day — it is a shake-out round, not a test.
Their own verdict afterwards was that skipping it would have cost them a full day. Almost nowhere else in Vietnam lets you land and play the same afternoon.

▸ Day 2: the championship round
Day two was the main event: Vietnam Golf & Country Club in Thu Duc, a 36-hole property in good condition, listed at $96.62. Lake View Villas sits on the same estate, so a stay-and-play night removes the transfer entirely ($115.94 as listed).
▸ The trade-off is simple: stay in the city if you want restaurants and nightlife in the evening; stay on property if you want to roll out of bed onto the first tee.

▸ Day 3: the address that confuses everyone
Day three heads out of the centre — and this is where paperwork surprises people. Twin Doves, Harmonie Golf Park, Song Be and Emerald were long described as being in Binh Duong province. Since 1 July 2025, Vietnam’s administrative reform merged Binh Duong into Ho Chi Minh City, and the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau province was merged in as well.
▸ So a voucher that reads “Ho Chi Minh City” for a course you remember as Binh Duong is not an error. Mapping apps still mix old and new place names, so send your driver the course name and a map pin rather than the administrative address.
▸ This group played Twin Doves ($100.91). Harmonie is $92.32 and Song Be $102.20 in the same area.

▸ Day 4: the round they chose not to play
With an evening flight there was room for one more round. Two candidates:
▸ Long Thanh Golf Club in Dong Nai ($95.76) — good course, but it points away from the airport, so the timing needs care.
▸ Vinpearl Golf Leman Cu Chi ($85.88) — the cheapest option on their shortlist.
They played neither. After three consecutive rounds the group swapped the fourth for a massage and a long lunch. That is a legitimate plan, and worth building into the quote rather than cancelling on the day.

TGROUP’s southern listing carries more than twenty courses, golf hotels and packages in and around the city. Over ten of them are inside a one-hour drive of the centre.
Three rounds (54 holes) is the comfortable answer: one on arrival afternoon, one each on the next two days. A fourth is possible but most groups would rather have the last morning free.
No. The 1 July 2025 administrative reform merged Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau into Ho Chi Minh City. Because map apps still show old names, give your driver the course name and a map pin.
The dry season, roughly December to April, is the most reliable. From May to October expect afternoon showers — book morning tee times. Green fees are generally softer in that window.
Yes. TGROUP works with small private groups, families and friends, so a private vehicle and confirmed tee times start from two players.
Send dates and the number of players — we will put the course mix, transfers and hotel into one quote. Small private groups, families and friends only; no shared coach tours.
