For nearly 400 years (1558 to 1945), Hue was the capital of the 9 Nguyen Lords in Central Region, the capital of the Tay Son Dynasty, and then the capital of the whole country under the 13th Nguyen Dynasty. At this time, many valuable cultural and historical architectural works were developed, typically Hue citadel, especially the Inner Court area (with 253 constructions), 7 mausoleum clusters of 9 kings Nguyen, Nam Giao, Ho Quyen and Hon Chen temples. The ancient capital of Hue today still retains intangible and tangible cultural heritages containing great values symbolizing the intellect and soul of the Vietnamese nation...
