Description

Bringing a production crew to Korea creates a long list of work that never appears on screen: equipment through customs, vehicles for the team and props, somewhere to store kit, an interpreter on set, and above all the permit application for each location. TGROUP TRADE & TRAVEL handles the logistics and on-the-ground coordination for film, photography and content production crews in Korea.

About shooting permits – stated plainly

We want crews to plan with clear eyes: permission to film rests with the location manager and the Korean authorities, not with any service company. TGROUP prepares and files applications, tracks progress and handles everything in Korean, but we cannot guarantee a permit at every location. Some places are difficult or simply closed to commercial filming – certain heritage sites, military zones and some metro stations – and many restrict shooting hours or crew numbers. In practice: send us the treatment and location list as early as possible, at least three to four weeks before the shoot, so there is time to find alternatives if an application is refused. Small-camera personal shooting is straightforward, but a crew with professional cameras, lighting and props will almost always need a permit.

Seasons and shooting conditions

  • Late March to mid-April: cherry blossom – beautiful, very crowded, and in bloom for roughly a week, so plan a fallback.
  • May to June: clear skies and good light, with smaller crowds than blossom season.
  • Late October to mid-November: autumn colour, the finest frames of the year, though famous locations are congested at weekends.
  • December to February: snow in the north and mountains with low temperatures – build in warming breaks for the crew and spare batteries for equipment.

Combine with other TGROUP services

Usually paired with VIP airport meet & greet for talent, private cars with chauffeurs, on-set interpreters and crew accommodation.

Policy

Delivery, payment and cancellation policy

  • TGROUP provides logistics and application support and is not a permitting authority. Permission to film rests with location managers and the Korean authorities.
  • TGROUP does not guarantee a permit at every location; some areas are closed to commercial filming or restrict shooting hours and crew numbers.
  • Permit fees, location fees and payments to authorities are charged at those bodies’ own rates and are generally non-refundable.
  • Crews must supply an accurate treatment, equipment list and crew list; a misdeclared application may be refused or shut down on site.
  • Bringing professional equipment through customs follows Korean regulations; TGROUP advises, but declaration remains the equipment owner’s responsibility.
  • Crews must observe local rules on shooting hours, noise, safety and site protection.
  • Payment follows the milestones set out in the contract; changes to shoot dates or locations after sign-off may incur additional cost, advised in advance.

Treatments and project information are kept confidential, and a non-disclosure agreement can be signed on request.
