Description

Medical costs in Korea are high for uninsured foreign visitors. A single emergency visit, a scan or a few nights in hospital can exceed the cost of the trip itself. TGROUP TRADE & TRAVEL helps travellers arrange travel insurance for a trip to Korea – advising on the right level of cover, guiding the purchase process and assisting with contact if it ever has to be used.

What travel insurance usually covers

Benefit group Typically included
Accident and medical expenses Consultations, emergency treatment and hospitalisation while abroad; some plans include medical repatriation.
Baggage and personal property Loss, misdirection or damage to checked baggage and personal belongings.
Trip disruption Cancellation, delay or missed connections, subject to each plan’s conditions.
On-the-ground assistance A helpline, assistance contacting hospitals and language support when something goes wrong.

Scope, benefit limits and exclusions differ between plans and insurers. TGROUP explains these clearly before you decide, rather than quoting a premium alone.

Visas and insurance – stated plainly

So that no one pressures you with the wrong information: under current rules, a short-term Korean tourist visa application does not require a certificate of travel insurance – unlike a Schengen visa. Insurance is bought to protect yourself, not to complete a file. That said, document requirements change over time and by visa category, so check when you apply; our visa desk reviews this for you. Our honest recommendation: if your party includes elderly travellers, anyone with a pre-existing condition, or an itinerary with active pursuits such as skiing or hiking, take the cover – these are the highest-risk groups. And read the exclusions on pre-existing conditions carefully, as that is the clause that causes most disputes at claim time.

Who this service is for

  • Families travelling with elderly members or small children.
  • Travellers with active itineraries such as winter skiing, hiking or golf.
  • Corporate and MICE delegations needing cover for the whole party.
  • Long or multi-leg trips across several destinations.
